Financial services and disclosures
Financial services are not live. These development-stage reference disclosures describe intended design, not current availability, confirmed provider arrangements or a live offer. Provider identities and final legal terms require approval before launch.
How CrewChest payment accounts work
CrewChest maintains payment-account and ledger records for each crew. Your crew's wallet is a record of what the crew has contributed, what has been paid out and what remains.
CrewChest is not a bank and does not take deposits. It keeps the records, and it initiates or facilitates the payment instructions that members authorize.
Available, pending, reserved and held funds
Available funds are unrestricted and can be used or withdrawn. Pending funds have not settled yet and are never counted as available.
Reserved funds are committed to an approved payout or business release. Held funds are temporarily unavailable while CrewChest completes a required review; they are never combined with available funds.
End-user funds safeguarding
CrewChest may hold and safeguard end-user funds. Those funds are kept separate from CrewChest's own operating money and are recorded as amounts owed to members, not as CrewChest's revenue.
Safeguarded balances are reconciled against CrewChest's internal records. CrewChest does not claim deposit insurance or CDIC protection for these funds.
Funds availability and withdrawal timing
Timing depends on the regulated providers that carry out the underlying transfer, and on any review that applies. CrewChest cannot guarantee immediate availability in all circumstances.
Only unrestricted available funds can be withdrawn. Pending, reserved and held funds cannot.
Transaction authorization
Every contribution, payout, withdrawal and approved business release is shown to you in full — amount, charge, total, destination and timing — before you authorize it.
CrewChest records your authorization, the disclosures you were shown and the time you gave consent.
Service and payment-related charges
CrewChest does not charge a subscription. Contributing is free.
Charges relate to payments that leave your crew's wallet and are always shown before you authorize a transaction and again on your receipt. Where no approved charge applies, the charge shown is $0.00.
External clearing and settlement providers
External regulated providers perform the underlying clearing and settlement of payments. CrewChest initiates and records the instruction; it does not itself clear or settle between banks.
Provider identities and final contractual terms will be inserted here only after they are confirmed.
Identity and compliance reviews
Canadian law requires CrewChest to confirm who its customers are before money moves, and to keep those records.
From time to time a transaction or an account may be reviewed. If that happens, affected funds are shown as held for review, and we will tell you when the review is complete or if more information is needed.
Refunds and reversals
If a transfer is returned or an entry has to be corrected, CrewChest records a refund or a balancing reversal against the original transaction. The original entry is never deleted or edited.
You can see refunds and reversals in your transaction history, with the original reference and the effect on your crew's wallet.
Complaints and support
If something looks wrong, contact CrewChest support with the transaction reference and we will investigate.
Compliance matters, including questions about a review or a hold, are handled by the CrewChest Compliance Officer and reached through the same support route. CrewChest does not publish the personal contact details of individual staff.
Privacy and record retention
CrewChest collects only the information it needs to confirm identity, operate your crew's wallet and meet its legal obligations.
Transaction, identity and authorization records are retained for the periods Canadian law requires, and are kept secure whether or not your account stays open.
Service interruptions and transaction recovery
If a provider's answer is delayed, CrewChest shows the last confirmed status rather than guessing. A transaction is never marked failed, retried automatically or sent twice because of an interruption.
CrewChest confirms the outcome through its own reconciliation process and notifies you once the status is recovered.
